Mark A. Kerstein is a Godan (fifth degree black belt) in Kendo. He has been practicing kendo for over 25 years under Craig Sensei at the Houston Budokan. Currently, he is president of the Southern United States Kendo and Iaido Federation. While Kerstein Sensei is not practicing Kendo and Iaido at the Houston Budokan or at the University of Houston, he uses his JD ('98) received from the University of Houston Law Center to run his own law firm, The Law Office of Mark A. Kerstein. The club is immensely lucky and proud to have him as their Sensei. |  |
 | President: Robert Lott Robert is a founding member of Cougar Kendo. Currently, he is a junior at UH who is majoring in English. | |
 | Vice President: Nancy Maza Nancy is a founding member of Cougar Kendo. She is a senior anthropology major at UH and is studying to become a forensic anthropoligist. Nancy received a spirit award at the 2009 Dallas Nabeshima Cup, having won 3 matches due to her spirit and perseverance. |
 | Vice President: Chris Nguyen Chris is a founding member of Cougar Kendo. He is a senior at UH who is a premed student majoring in biology. When he isn't practicing Kendo, he teaches children Taekwondo. |
 | Secretary: Andrew Tatuaka Andrew is a ninja who plans to be a ninja bounty hunter. He also is known as "the chosen one" of Cougar Kendo. |
 | Treasurer: David Tran David is prepharm student. Thanks to David's work, there are many pictures and videos of Cougar Kendo. |

 | President (Fall 2008-Spring 2010): Shamina Chang Shamina is a founding member of Cougar Kendo. During the spring of 2007, She started Kendo under Craig Sensei at the Houston Budokan. Shamina practiced Kendo in Austin, while a freshman at the University of Texas, and served as president of the University of Texas Kendo Association during Spring of 2009. She then transferred to the University of Houston and founded Cougar Kendo. In Spring 2010, Shamina graduated summa cum laude with a double major in philosophy and psychology. She is currently studying law at the South Texas College of Law. |
